Little bird, little Sarah Jane
I don't understand what's happening today,
Everything is all a blur…
All I can see is a happy girl
The sweet lady that you were, Sarah Jane
Sarah Jane…

Little bird, little Sarah Jane
You were always such a pretty little thing
You always were my closest friend…
Brave and smart and affectionate
What a sweet little bird you were, Sarah Jane
Sarah Jane…
Just a little tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen, who played Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who.

Lyrics were adapted from "Chava Ballet Sequence" from the musical Fiddler On the Roof. What I like about the Doctor's relationship with Sarah is that it has carried over from late in the Doctor's third incarnation back in the early 70s to his current one. I really wanted to reflect on how long their relationship has lasted through the Doctor's eyes, especially since forty-some years have passed since their friendship began, and so much has changed for the both of them. But they remain loyal friends to the end.

Sarah Jane Smith and everything else associated with Doctor Who belong to BBC/Terry Nation.
